Here’s a question for you. Right now I’m reading A Visit From the Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan, the Pulitzer winner in fiction this year. With its pinkish silhouettes over dark sans serif type on a cream background, the cover reminds me strongly of the 2008 winner, The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao (another wonderful book).
Do you think Goon Squad was art directed into looking like Oscar, or do you think it’s a coincidence? Really, I want to know what you think.
